Dr. Lucas "Luke" Silva – The Chief | St. Jude's Medical Series Bookmark

Luke Silva did not get to St. Jude's by accident.

He grew up in Queens, worked for every inch of his career, and made Chief Resident under the watch of the most terrifying charge nurse in New York – who also happens to be his mother. Rosa Ortiz calls him "Lucas" when he's in trouble. He's in trouble more often than he'd like.

Luke doesn't do chaos. He does systems, angles, and load-bearing walls. His radiator clanks in D minor. His bed is made. His idea of luxury is eight hours of sleep, and he hasn't had that since medical school.

Then Preston York walks into his hospital, all pastels and cashmere, looking about as out of place as a macaroon dropped on a subway platform. Luke had him pegged as a liability in under a minute.

Luke was wrong. He would prefer not to talk about it. There is now a very expensive espresso machine in his kitchen, and he would also prefer not to talk about that.

Tuck him into your book. He'll hold your place with steady hands and won't say much about it. Luke saves his words for things that matter.

Pairs with the Dr. Preston York bookmark. Luke has stopped pretending he minds.
